English Roses - Old Sheep Meadows Nursery

Our English Roses are an excellent combination of the fragrance and hardiness that the Heirloom Roses offer and the repeat blooms that the Canada Roses offer. These are wonderful roses that have fragrant blooms all summer long. They are quite variable in winter hardiness; only the hardiest English roses do well in my garden including:

Abraham Darby- one of the finest English Roses. Fragrant and beautiful with very double peach-apricot flowers.
Charlotte- a favorite yellow rose. Tall and healthy.
Bow Bells- A super rose in my garden, always in bloom. The double pink flowers have a mild sweet fragrance.
Chianti- A very vigorous, deep wine red rose with excellent fragrance. It is tall enough to be a low climber.
Golden Celebration- A lovely, deep yellow rose with a strong fragrance.
Claire Rose- Late to begin blooming, but keeps right on blooming late into the season. Good fragrance with pink very double blooms.
Mary Rose- A tough, thorny rose that can deal with adversity. Medium pink with a lite fragrance.
Graham Thomas- an even taller yellow rose. In milder parts of New England, one could be a climber.
Othello- A strong red rose, very double with a commanding fragrance.
Sharifa Asma- one of my favorite roses with good fragrance and a beautiful pink bloom with an outer fringe of white petals.
Winchester Cathedral- Same as Mary Rose, only in white.
Fair Rosamund- Our own rose. A pink and white striped beauty. We of course love it as it resembles Rosa Mundi but reblooms all summer.
